Which SuperM member is your ideal type?

SuperM (Korean: 슈퍼엠), is a supergroup formed by SM Entertainment and Capitol Music Group in 2019.

The group includes seven members from three SM boy groups: Shinee’s Taemin, Exo’s Baekhyun and Kai, and NCT sub-units, NCT 127 and WayV Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas.

The group debuted with their self-titled EP on October 4, 2019, topping the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The ‘M’ in the group name is an acronym for “MATRIX and MASTER”, meaning that they are the stars and experts who lead the world’s music fans, as well as artists with outstanding talent, and that they will bring the “Super” when they form a group, so they are named “SuperM”.

All SuperM members are assembled from established boy groups. Taemin debuted for the first time as a Shinee member in May 2008. In April 2012, Baekhyun and Kai debuted as Exo members.

In April 2016, Taeyong, Ten, and Mark debuted as NCT members. Lucas made his debut as a founding NCT member in February 2018. Taeyong and Mark were assigned to the NCT sub-unit, NCT 127, located in South Korea.

In January 2019, Ten and Lucas were added to the China-based WayV sub-unit of the NCT.

Before SuperM’s official debut announcement in 2019, there were rumors that SM Entertainment was planning a “K-pop Super Boy Band” debut. Steve Barnett, chairman of the Capitol Music Group, and Lee Soo-man, founder of SM Entertainment, officially announced the group as SuperM at the 2019 Capitol Congress on August 7, 2019.

Lee Soo-man described the group as “K-pop’s Avengers,” with the group focusing more on performance-based music. [wiki]
