TWICE History

TWICE is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment. The members were selected through the Mnet Survival program, “Sixteen” screening out. In the end, it was composed of five Korean members, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung, three Japanese members, Momo, Mina, and Sana, and a Taiwanese member, Tzuyu.

Jihyo was voted by the members to be the leader. They were debuted on October 20, 2015, with the first mini-album, the STORY Begins.

The name “TWICE” was named by the company founder Park Jin Young. With the meaning of “touch people’s hearts twice, once through the ears and once again through the eyes”.

Their greeting “One in a million”, meaning “TWICE is only one in a million and the whole world.”

TWICE official fandom name is called “ONCE”. The name was announced on their official Instagram (Twicetagram) on November 4, 2015. The meaning behind the name ONCE “As long as the fans give their love once, TWICE will repay the love twice to the fans.”

The official lightstick is a lollipop with a white bottom and the color of the lollipop, called “Candy Bong”.
