Before the WJSN members’ quiz, here’s some short history of WJSN.
WJSN (English: Cosmic Girls, Korean：우주소녀, Chinese: 宇宙少女) is a Korean girl group formed by Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment and was debuted on February 25, 2016.
There are 12 members when WJSN was debuted. The members include SeolA, Bona, EXY, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Yeoreum, and Dayoung from Korea, and three Chinese members, Xuan Yi, Cheng Xiao, and Mei Qi.
On July 11, 2016, Yeonjung joined as a new member, the group becomes 13 members, and one of the largest number of members for Korean girl group.
The members are separated into four subgroups for each letter in “WJSN”: Wonder, Joy, Sweet, and Natural.
The official fans was named as “우정” (UJUNG, friendship). Ujung is also an abbreviation of space station. The word “우정” was shortened from Ujujeonggeojang (Korean: 우주정거장, English: Space station). WJSN also has a mascot/character named “우쭈” (UZZU), an alien with a heart-shaped head and wearing a spacesuit.
UZZU has its own Twitter and Instagram accounts, mainly sharing photos or films of Cosmic Girls, and even the official behind-the-scenes clip of Cosmic Girls, and named as “UZZU TAPE”.
History of WJSN Sub Units
In August 2016, SeolA, EXY, Soobin, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Yeoreum, and Dayoung teamed up with labelmate Monsta X to form the unit “Y-Teen.”
Y-Teen is a project unit group that will be promoting as CF models for KT’s phone fare service and will release EPs, music videos, and various entertainment content.
On May 2, 2018, Seola and Luda, Weki Meki Doyeon and Yoojung will form a project group WJMK and they will release a single in June with full promotional activities planned. [wikia]
