ITZY (Korean：있지) is a Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment and was debuted on February 12, 2019.
There are 5 members in ITZY. The members include Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna.
The group name ITZY, has a meaning of all the fans and the public are looking forward to ITZY to have it all, (EVERYTHING you WANT IT’Z in US.)
On February 12, 2019, ITZY debuted with the digital single album “IT’z Different” and the debut track “Dalla Dalla”.
2013, Chaeryeong and her sister participate in the “K-pop Star 3”. Although she did not reach the final in “K-pop Star 3”, but eventually she signed under JYP Entertainment to become trainee.
2015, Chaeryeong participated as JYP trainee in “SIXTEEN”, a survival program by Mnet and JYP Entertainment. The members must carry out a variety of singing, dance and other strict training to win the opportunity to debut. Chaeryeong eventually eliminated in the final episode of the program, and continue to practice back in JYP Entertainment.
2017, Ryujin joined a program called “MIXNINE” as JYP trainee. Eventually ranked first for the girl group TOP9, the boy group TOP9 won with a total score of 8114 points. The girl group was not able to debut, Ryujin continues to practice back to JYP Entertainment.
2017, Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna were involved in the “Stray Kids”, a reality show by Mnet and JYP Entertainment. And in the first episode, they were confronted with the boy’s Project Team.
August 20, 2018, JYP entertainment related personnel said they are preparing for the new girl’s group, and Chaeryeong is one of the members. This is another girl group from JYP Entertainment after four years after TWICE.
In 2018, Yeji was recommended by 2PM Junho to participate in SBS’s music variety show “The Fan” as JYP trainee.
On July 8 at midnight KST, the group announced their official fandom name called as “MIDZY” via their official Twitter account. “MIDZY” (믿지) came from Korean word MID-EO (믿어) means “Trust” or “Believe”.
