PENTAGON (Korean: 펜타곤, abbreviated as PTG), is a 9 members South Korea boy group formed by CUBE Entertainment in 2016.

Originally, the group was composed of 10 members including, Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, Wooseok and E’Dawn. E’Dawn left the group and the record label on November 14, 2018.

On May 2, 2016, they were introduced on the show “PENTAGON MAKER”, And on October 10, 2016, they were officially debuted with their title track “Gorilla”.

The group name “PENTAGON”, is based on members being able to complete a ‘pentagraph’ based on five aspects of music: Performance, Dance, Teamwork, Talent and Mind.

Their fandom name is called “Universe”. The fandom name was one of three choices that fans could vote for. The name means that the fans are their universe, following the line “You are my universe” from their song Pentagon on their debut album.

Pre-debut

After hinting at the new boy group in December 2015, Cube Entertainment revealed Pentagon with the trailer “Come into the World” on April 26, 2016.

Pentagon’s final lineup was chosen through the Mnet reality program, Pentagon Maker, which was broadcast online via Mnet’s digital content brand M2. By the end of the series, the group’s official members were revealed as Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Yeo One, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok.

Pentagon published “Young” (produced by Dok2) and “Find Me” (produced by Tiger JK) cooperation songs on July 9. A music video for “Young” was published with members Hui, Yeo One, Kino, Wooseok, and Yuto.
