BTS History

BTS is a South Korean boy group formed by BigHit Entertainment. The members include RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, and V.

When the group first debuted, the BTS name was
conceptualized with the thought of block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim at adolescents like bullets.

On July 4, 2017, added the meaning of “protect the values and ideals of today’s adolescents.”. Formerly “BTS” as an acronym (Bangtan Sonyeon Dan) also adds the meaning that “Beyond the Scene” as part of their new brand identity.

The official fan name of BTS is “A.R.M.Y” (Korean: 아미), which was first made on July 9, 2013, through the official website and selected by BTS members after reading about 1000 fan opinions.

The abbreviation from “Adorable Representative M.C for Youth”, formed ARMY. While bulletproof jackets and armies are always together, so there is also the meaning that fans and the BTS groups have been together. The official light stick is the bomb-styled hand lamp called “Army BOMB”.

The brand identity of the BTS was made public via their official YouTube channel on July 4, 2017. In the video, with a streamlined image of the BTS members and fans A.R.M.Y symbiosis, two sides of the meaning, and at the end of the video gave “BTS” a new definition, “Beyond the Scene.”
